The Free Little Libraries of Bozeman: Get LIT(erary) With Us

Bozeman’s got big mountains, bigger skies, and teeny-tiny libraries tucked on street corners like hidden treasure chests. These little free libraries are basically the Tinder of the book world: you swipe left on that random self-help paperback from 2004, swipe right on a dog-eared romance, and occasionally find the one (aka a mint-condition hardcover you definitely weren’t expecting).

Finding them is half the fun. Stroll downtown with a latte in one hand and your tote bag in the other, and you’ll spot them everywhere. Think birdhouses, but with more gossip: painted rainbows, mismatched shingles, and shelves stuffed with paperbacks waiting for their next reader.

So let’s talk about the Get LIT(erary) collection! The bookworm-approved fits to go with your neighborhood library crawl.

We’ve got three designs in this collection: Well Read, Plot Twist, and Fiction Addiction Book Club. Basically, we’ve got you covered for whatever reading situation you find yourself in. Each one is hand screen-printed on the comfiest, coziest gear, so you can curl up, crack open a book, and disappear straight into the world living on those pages.

Bozeman's Local Treasures

Not every little library makes it onto the official littlefreelibrary.org map! That’s the magic of it. Hidden treasures are everywhere! We went on a hunt and found some of the cutest (and best stocked) ones in town. 📚✨

One of our favorites sits right behind our store, painted in a bright red brick pattern. This one has just been returned to its home and is waiting eagerly to be filled again.
📍 32 S Tracy Ave, Bozeman, MT 59715

Just a block away is a library with antlers. Because of course. It’s one of the most unique ones in the downtown area.
📍 101 S Tracy Ave, Bozeman, MT 59715

At the intersection of S. Fourth Ave and W. Olive St. sits a town favorite. Well maintained, well stocked, and clearly cherished by locals.
📍 404 W Olive St, Bozeman, MT 59715

Further from the store we found one in front of a big yellow door. A cute little library clearly well loved by the community. Don't forget to look for the secret drawer! You may find the best book hidden in there!
📍 317 S Tenth Ave, Bozeman, MT 59715

Across town at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, we discovered a hand-painted beauty brimming with hidden gems. The little animals painted on this one are worth the visit alone!
📍 325 N 25th Ave, Bozeman, MT 59718

Just a few blocks away, two more caught our eye. One decked out in recycled tin cans turned into flowers, and another shaped like a robot, full of children’s books. If you pull up to the address below you will find both just steps from one another.
📍 2807 W Villard St, Bozeman, MT 59718

The last stop on our hunt was pure magic. A whimsical library made of tree branches and hand-crafted details, overflowing with stories.
📍 31 N Hunters Way, Bozeman, MT 59718

And if you’re feeling adventurous, we dare you to go on your own little free library hunt! Skip the app, wander the neighborhoods, and let us know what hidden gems you discover.
