We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate Women's Month than with a poem from one of our own favorite Wild Women, Chloe Nostrant.
Chloe is a writer, photographer, and angler from Livingston, Montana, who spends her days either on, or daydreaming of, her favorite fishing spots with her trusty pup Hiatt.
A wild woman is not born under cloudy skies,
she is born under ancient constellations
whose starlight twinkles in her eyes.
She only needs a man to lead her in two step,
but loves to wake beside him in the early sun.
She's been tossed from green broke horses,
just to ride again bruised and muddy–
an act of forgiveness and determination.
Of all the lessons she’s learned in life,
to love herself is the most important one.
Beneath the turquoise and silver rings
are calloused hands–
a chronicle of her life’s every scene.
She only drinks whiskey poured from a cowboys hand,
be careful if it’s ordered neat
A wild woman is not born under cloudy skies,
she is born under ancient constellations
whose starlight twinkles in her eyes.
